Cambridge Microelectronics was formed in 2012 by five Cambridge alumni as a spin-out from the University of Cambridge. The founders are leaders in high voltage semiconductor technologies, with over 30 years of experience across academia and industry.
They have collaborated with over 50 multinational companies, playing a key role in the development and deployment of innovative power electronics products across a wide range of sectors, including consumer electronics, lighting, traction, medical, industrial, and automotive applications. Technologies developed under their leadership are now embedded in hundreds of millions of devices worldwide. With more than 200 granted patents and over 1,000 published research papers, their contributions have made a significant impact on the field. In addition, they have founded more than eight power electronics companies, further demonstrating their extensive experience and influence in the industry.
