Prof. Gehan Amaratunga is 1966 Professor of Engineering and Head of Electronics, Power and Energy Conversion at the University of Cambridge. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2004 and in 2007 was awarded the Royal Academy of Engineering Silver Medal. Research interests include: Device design for electronics and energy conversion, power electronics for optimum grid connection of large photovoltaic electric generation systems, integrated and discrete semiconductor devices for power switching and control, nanotechnology, novel materials and device structures for low cost, high efficiently solar cells. Prof. Amaratunga is the co-founder of Camsemi, Enecsys, Wind Technologies and Nanoinstruments.
Prof. Florin Udrea is Professor of Semiconductor Engineering at Cambridge University with over 20 years' experience in power devices, smart technologies, micro-sensors, and MEMS. Prof. Florin Udrea is an inventor of over 70 patents. For his 'outstanding contribution to British Engineering' he has received the Silver Medal from the Royal Academy of Engineering for 2012. Since joining Cambridge University in 1992, he has worked on industrial projects with several major European, American and Japanese-based multinationals and has been a consultant to a number of design companies and semiconductor foundries. He is also a co-founder of CamSemi and Cambridge CMOS Sensors.
Dr. Tanya Trajkovic received a PhD degree in Engineering from King's College, University of Cambridge. She has more than 15 years of experience in development of high voltage lateral power devices and Power ICs as well as vertical IGBTs rated up to 6.5kV. She joined CamSemi as one of the founding members where she worked for 10 years. She has published more than 30 papers and is the co-inventor of 7 patents and patent applications. She has a proven record in taking new technologies and product ideas from concept through qualification to volume manufacturing. She has experience with academic and commercial environments, small and dynamic start-ups and multinational companies.
Dr. Nishad Udugampola obtained his PhD in Power Semiconductor Devices and Integration from Cambridge University and has over 10 years’ experience in Semiconductor Devices, Power Systems and Drives. He has worked for CamSemi for over 8 years most recently as a Principal Power Device Engineer, and also as a lecturer at University of Moratuwa. He is a co-author of more than 15 technical papers and 6 granted and pending patents. He has experience in semiconductor devices, custom design-layout, high voltage wafer level and system level characterisation, reliability testing, product design and optimisation for high yield and low cost.
Dr. Vasantha Pathirana has over 10 years' experience in power semiconductor device design, process optimisation, validation and testing. She has a PhD in high voltage lateral power devices from University of Cambridge, UK and a first class honours BEng degree from University of Adelaide, Australia. Dr. Pathirana has published over 15 technical papers and she is the co-inventor of 5 patents and patent applications. She worked for CamSemi for over 7 years and most recently as a Principal Power Device engineer. She has valuable skills in developing low cost, high yield, robust and reliable semiconductor solutions in small to medium sized businesses.
